Home About Purpose & Vision

Coral Hill Baptist Student Ministry Purpose and Vision

The CHBC Student Ministry is designed to challenge Middle School and High School students (7th-12th grade) to trust Jesus Christ and to follow him. Discipleship is the heartbeat of our student ministry. Our goal is to develop students of God's Word who are equipped to impact a culture that is progressively becoming 'Post-Christian'. We believe the basis for effective student ministry is authentic relationships. We expect every leader in our student ministry to be a servant leader. Since we believe the parent is the one whom God has given primary responsibility for the spiritual development of a student,  we see ourselves as a partner with and a resource for the family. We do not see ourselves as an isolated ministry, but whole-heartedly embrace our identity as a ministry of the local church (Coral Hill), falling under and submitting to is leadership. We see ourselves as a student ministry (in the truest sense of both of those words) more so than a youth group. Finally we are intentional about making missions a thread that runs through everything we do, not because we believe every student is called to international missions, but because our God is a missionary God and the task He has given the church is a global one. (Acts 1:8)

Purpose

To please the Father, be loyal to the Head (which is Christ), and to serve the Body, by being faithful to the responsibility He has given us to make fruit-bearing disciples of a particular group of people.

Vision

Trusting that investing in the discipleship process of a particular group of people in this generation will result in healthy, exponential growth in generations to come.
